The fight with depression never ends
You think you’re good then turn another bend.
It’s hard to keep up pretence
When people learn it’s all pretend.
You want to be happy and carefree
To smile, laugh and let life be.
You dream of days the darkness goes;
hoping you’ll live life without woes.
You manage to smile and be human
Fool new faces like a showman.
You think you’ve cracked it, happiness that is
Only to bump to earth quicker than piss.
You hate the world, mostly yourself
You were normal, now you’re back on the shelf.
You hold it together to survive
Close your eyes, imagine you’ll thrive.
The day is over, there is always tomorrow
End things now, time you can’t borrow.
The problems are temporary; they can ease
Don’t turn to a permanent solution, quick as a breeze.
As tempting as it is, trust me; I know
Once it’s done, you wave bye to the show.
You can get through this and out the other side
Repetitive perseverance, your strength cannot hide.
