Without you I wouldn’t be here

You propped me up when I was down

You are there to lend your ear

You hugged me and said don’t frown.

You sat beside me

Let my tears fall

A gentle hand on my knee

Until I could stand tall.

You stood back to give me space

You came round for tea

When my head was out of place

You spoke about the positives; I could not see.

You may not realise

My life was saved

You responded to my cries

My head you raised

I am not fully better

But I can see progress

I’ve taken to writing a letter

To minimise my stress.
