I am strong
I am free;
It was wrong
What you did to me
I am a fighter
Finding my worth;
You should be a lifer
Not walking this earth!
You think I’m the same
To survive I had to change,
Learning I was not to blame
At first felt strange.
Over the years
I came to understand;
You caused the tears
The hurt was at your hand.
That girl you hurt
Has been left in the past;
Now I am alert
Found a love to last.
That little girl you destroyed
Now a woman, fierce and sassy,
Matured, accepting, no longer annoyed
Supporting others, keeping it classy.
She is thriving;
Making a difference,
She is living
Her life has significance.
